SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) - The Sheridan City Council is expected to pick a new mayor to replace Mayor Dave Kinskey, who is filling the Wyoming state Senate seat left vacant by the death last month of Sen. John Schiffer.
The Sheridan Press reports (http://goo.gl/pHA2o1 ) that the council is meeting Thursday to accept Kinskey's resignation and appoint one of its members as his successor.
Kinskey will serve the remainder of Schiffer's term, which runs through 2016. The person picked to be Sheridan's new mayor will serve through 2016.
Schiffer was a Republican from Kaycee who had served as Senate president.
