Jurors listen in on interview with murder suspect

The prosecution continues its case on Wednesday against Matthew Tornquist, the Hot Springs man accused of murdering his mother. Wednesday morning, jurors listened to a recording of an initial interview between DCI Agent Pat West and Tornquist.

In the interview there were several discrepancies Tornquist gave with locations and times of where he was near his mother's disappearance. West says Tornquist lacked conviction and did not seem very concerned about his mother's disappearance.

West says he also locked up when asked about his car.
West says after the interview he knew a place of interest to search was Tornquist's car.

West then talked about evidence found after searching Catherine Tornquist's home and Matthew Tornquist's dorm room. At Catherine's home investigators found bullet marks in her foam mattress and on the bed board. There was also a shell casing found in the hallway.

In Matthew's dorm they found several stolen guns in the ceiling. The shell casing found in Catherine's home matched one of the guns. They also found a pair of Matthew's jeans with a red substance on them, that later tested positive for blood.
