Wyoming gets $9 million in energy land lease auction

Wyoming will net more than $9 million in the latest auction for oil and gas leases, according to the Office of State Lands and Investments.

Tuesday, the state held an oil and gas lease auction. It generated $9,122,992.44 in mineral leases on 46,830.08 acres.

The sale included parcels from Big Horn, Campbell, Carbon, Converse, Crook, Fremont, Goshen, Laramie, Natrona, Niobrara, Platte, Sheridan, Sweetwater, Washakie and Weston counties.

The next state oil and gas lease auction is Nov. 5 in Cheyenne.
