Rapid City man killed in holiday weekend crash

A Rapid City man was killed Saturday in a two-car crash on Interstate 90, about nine miles west of Murdo.

The Highway Patrol says 24-year-old Charles Michael Thesing was eastbound in a construction zone when his pickup crossed into the oncoming lane, hitting a semi-truck.

Thesing died at the scene. A passenger in his pickup, 22-year-old Quintez Nolan Provancial, also of Rapid City, has life-threatening injuries.  Provancial was taken to a Pierre hospital and then transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital..

The semi-truck driver, Trygg Andrew Johnson, 36, Amboy Wash., was not injured.
