Box Elder man accused of rape denied bond reduction

Pennington County Seventh Circuit Court Judge Jeff Davis denied a request for reduced bond Monday for a Box Elder man accused of rape, two counts of aggravated assault and domestic violence.

The defense attorney for Justin Miller, 21, requested the bond be reduced from $100,000 to $30,000.  Miller has been held in Pennington County Jail on bond for the May 9 incident in which he is accused of choking, raping, and assaulting his girlfriend with a knife.

Miller faces up to 80 years in prison for the charges.  A motions hearing has been set for July 21.
