Box Elder woman killed in crash near Edgemont

A Box Elder woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday on U.S. Highway 18, one mile east of the Wyoming and South Dakota state line, near Edgemont.

Miranda Christine Wade, 38, of Box Elder, was driving westbound on U.S. Highway 18 when her SUV collided with a semi-truck pulling an oversized load.  Wade’s SUV hit the corner of the semi-truck’s load, went into a ditch and ended up in a ravine.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the semi had multiple escort and pilot vehicles.

Wade died of injuries sustained in the crash. The semi driver, Glen Allen Jones, 34, Hockley, Texas, was not injured.  Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
