Ellsworth airman pleads not guilty to soliciting a minor

An active duty Ellsworth Air Force Base airman plead not guilty to solicitation of a minor Monday.

Jarrod Hinman, 23, was arraigned in Pennington County Seventh Circuit Court for the January 2014 incident in which he is accused of knowingly making contact with and soliciting sex from an undercover officer posing as minor under the age of 16.

Judge Janine Kern set a status hearing for the case on July 14 and amended a previous bond condition of no computer use.   Under the revision, Hinman will be allowed to use computers only in the course of his duties at Ellsworth and only under direct supervision.

If convicted, Hinman faces up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
