Trial set in law enforcement assault case

A trial date is set for a man accused of four counts of aggravated assault on South Dakota law enforcement officers. Judge Davis set aside October first, second, and third for the trial.

The 44-year-old had a blood alcohol level of .19 when he allegedly pointed a weapon at officers. Ross was shot by police last June following a high speed pursuit. The chase started in Rapid City and ended near New Underwood.

If convicted of aggravated assault and the other charges, Ross faces up to two hundred years in prison.
