As bad as the multi-vehicle pileup on Interstate 90 was Friday evening, the South Dakota Highway Patrol says none of the injuries were life-threatening.

About 7 p.m. Friday, a windstorm swept through east of Rapid City, causing near blackout conditions because of blowing dirt.  This caused the multi-vehicle crash on the interstate around mile marker 75 (near New Underwood).  Several people were taken to the hospital but their names and conditions are unknown at this time.

It took several hours to clear the highway.
