Repaving, new curbs, gutters, storm sewer system, sidewalks, and even roadway lighting is in store for Seger Drive beginning this fall.
The entire two-mile stretch from East Mall Drive to Dyess Avenue will receive the $14 million makeover with a portion of Dyess Avenue from Mall Drive to Seger Drive as well.
Terry Wolterstorff, Public Works Director, said the reason for the construction is due to the lack of water and sewer infrastructure, and the roadway is in very bad shape.
"We're going to have some major road work going on up there over the next 3 years. We'll obviously have detours in place and we'll take care of the local traveling public as necessary up there. We ask for the people patience; but I think they'll be very happy when we get done with the work," said Wolterstorff.
Road work will be completed in 2017.
