Rapid City Public Works Committee approves $1.1 million reallocation for Horace Mann Pool

Although the Horace Mann Pool in Rapid City will be closed for a year, swimmers can look forward to upgrades.

Tuesday, the Rapid City Public Works Committee approved a $1.1 million reallocation of funds to be used for both park and pool upgrades.

The pool will be reconstructed as a family aquatics center, complete with water slides.  The park will see irrigation and parking lot upgrades.

It is projected to reopen next spring. The full city council will vote on the reallocation on Monday.
