Chamber of Commerce recognizes eight for service to community

Eight honorees were recognized for their inspiration and service to others in the community.

The Rapid City Chamber of Commerce awarded them at the 26th annual Wind Beneath Our Wings Outstanding Performance awards luncheon at the Adoba Eco Hotel today.

Chamber of Commerce Vice President Lynn Kendall says the luncheon is special because they get a chance to recognize people who don't often get recognized for their work with the disabled, the elderly and others.

Recognized at the ceremony were:

Julaine Arent-Rollman, Service to the Blind and Visually Impaired
Dr. Charles Hart, Regional Health
Deborah Kuehn, Black Hills Pediatrics, Early Childhood Connections, and Regional Health
Melissa Martin-Schwarz, Black Hills Works
Lloyd Paulson, Civic Leader and Philanthropist
The Honorable Judge Craig Pfeifle, Seventh Circuit Court
Debbie Stangle, Project Solutions, Inc.
Brad Winter, Black Hills Works

Mayor Kooiker began the ceremony with a moment of silence in honor of the flood anniversary and Sandra Diegel, the John T. Vucuverich Foundation's Executive Director, was the featured speaker.
