Main Street Square bakery replaced by pizza/sub shop

By Barrett Phillips

The new restaurant will open by July, depending on how fast equipment arrives and how long the remodeling process takes.

The space, formerly was occupied by Dakota Thyme, was purchased by James Ramp.  Ramp, who is a retired Air Force Senior Master Sergeant, said he would often eat at Pauly's Sub Co. while stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base. When the opportunity arose to buy some downtown Rapid City property, he jumped at the idea.

"We just thought it would be a good fit for the downtown area; for the folks that work and shop in the downtown area; for an alternative inexpensive place to get something good to eat," said Ramp.

The 3,400 square foot space can seat more than 100 customers between the inside restaurant and both outdoor patios.
