Noem seeks public support to oppose new EPA water regulations

U.S. Representative Kristi Noem (R-SD) wants South Dakotans' help in her fight to restrict the Environmental Protection Agency's ability to regulate your waters.

Recently the EPA came out with guidelines to change the definition of "navigable waters" to include waters that haven't been covered in the past like ditches, wetlands, and land owned by producers.

Noem says she is worried that this proposal would limit people's ability to govern their own land. She's asking people to write the EPA and ask them not to impose this new regulation. "This one would be a huge issue with the state of South Dakota," said Noem. "If it were to go forward, it would be probably be the largest federal jurisdiction expansion that we've seen in a very long time."
