More talk of D.C. Booth Fish Hatchery closure

There is bad news for the D.C. Booth fish hatchery in Spearfish.

Despite the overwhelming support the hatchery received this last year, it looks like it may be in trouble once again. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service officials say the hatchery may be relocated due to the state budget. D.C. Booth was on a list with several other hatcheries to be closed last year. Congress later decided to keep them open. However, the hatchery may not be so lucky this time.

Senator Tim Johnson has recently warned the Booth Society that the outlook on the fish hatchery is grim.
