Primary Election leaves long time county commissioner out of a job

Posted:
The 2014 Primary Election left a long time county commissioner out of a job.

After 12 years as Pennington County Commissioner, Ken Davis came up short in his bid for re–election in District 1.

Hill City rancher George Ferebee defeated Davis by nearly 300 votes.

Davis said saving Ellsworth Air Force Base from closure two years ago is one of his many accomplishments.

Farebee has long been a critic of the commission. Davis is concerned about how effective the commission will be with Ferebee on it.

Davis said the loss stung but he doesn’t hold a grudge.

"I never carried a grudge about elections, people want something for change, that's their privilege and that's how they voted," Davis said.

Davis hints that despite the loss, it may not be the end of his political career.
