Larry Rhoden campaigns on replacing Obamacare

The Republican primary election for U.S. Senate less than 2 weeks away. And as numerous candidates hit the road to make personal appearances, one says his campaign remains focused on one issue: The Affordable Care Act.

Larry Rhoden spoke at Roosevelt Park in Rapid City Thursday morning.

Rhoden says Obamacare is flawed because a large number of young people not signing up has led to major premium increases for everyone.

He choose the location to showcase that the children playing here today will be the ones to carry the brunt of the healthcare costs in 10 to 20 years.

Replacing Obamacare has been a main focus in his TV commercials.

“We can use free market ideas to replace Obamacare and help bring down healthcare costs. Ideas like health savings plans, tourt reform, allowing competition among insurance companies across state lines, and reducing the number on mandates we put on insurance companies” said Rhoden.

Rhoden is running in the republican primary for the seat being vacated by Tim Johnson. His opponents include Mike Rounds, Annette Bosworth, Jason Ravnsborg and Stace Nelson.
