Men put on red pumps to support the end of violence against women

Posted:
These heels were made for walking, but not if you're a woman. Saturday men were given the chance to strut their stuff for a good cause.

Men lined up in red high heels to walk in a mile-long walk at Memorial Park in Rapid City. "Walk a Mile in her Heels" is a national campaign put on locally by Women Against Violence Inc. (WAVI) in Rapid City. Men put on the pumps to support the end of violence against women.

Mary Corbine, director of WAVI, says violence is a problem in Rapid City and money is needed to support WAVI's programs. The daring gentlemen in the heels, and those who ran in a regular 5K Saturday morning, raised money for WAVI. Corbine says the fundraising goal is $18,000.
