Seniors at Sturgis Brown High School are celebrating the last day of class. Jeremy Guttierez has another reason to celebrate. He's never missed a day of school.
"I've been here everyday of school since Kindergarten," said Guttierez.
Guttierez says his good health is one reason why.
"The thing is I never really got sick during school time. I remember one time on Christmas break I got influenza. The day Christmas break started and then I got over it the day Christmas break got over. So I never got sick to miss school."
Teachers say Guttierez is a good role model.
"I would say that he is very kind and has many people that really sort of look up to him," said Kate Fjelstad, a Sturgis Brown High School teacher.
As for the fact he's never missed, some say it might have been a little easier this year.
"I think it is fairly impressive that he has never missed school, but I will say he has a first block open and a fourth block open. So I don't know how hard it would be, but I do think it is pretty impressive after all," said Fjelstad.
Guttierez say he is proud of his record, and while he didn't always like the school work aspect, he liked being with friends.
