Economic Leaders in the Black Hills join forces

Black Hills economic leaders join forces to launch marketing campaign

Black Hills businesses, government and economic leaders joined forces Thursday to create a new marketing initiative; the Rushmore Region Alliance.

It includes 21 different organizations, and from six different counties. The Black Hills Business Council, Rapid City Economic Development Partnership, Spearfish Economic Development, and the Black Hills Council of Local Governments are some of the groups joining the effort.

They will focus on different industries including energy, health care, and engineering. Those involved say region wide economic development efforts create more opportunities for businesses.

"When you band us all together as one united economy, one united community, it's a very powerful message to the rest of the world that we are united, and we are serious about moving the dial on business development here," said Benjamin Snow, President of Rapid City Economic Development Partnership.

Members of the Rushmore Region Alliance will go to Bismark for a conference where they will reach out to companies involved with the energy sector.
