KOTA Territory elementary-school kids help feed kids in Africa

For more than 30 years, the U.S. based feeding organization Outreach International has worked to end hunger in 10 impoverished countries.
Kids at one KOTA Territory elementary school are touching lives all the way across the ocean right from their gymnasium.
Gloves on and scoopers ready,  Custer Elementary School kids filled bags with vitamins, vegetables, soy, and rice Thursday. Michelle Watland, school counselor, says the kids have been studying Africa all year, with a special focus on 'Outreach International.' "They asked 'Why can't we pack meals too? We want to pack meals," said Watland.

Wish granted Thursday morning. All 350 K-6th graders took turns filling what would become 10,000 meals for hungry kids in Nkungi, Tanzania. Giving hope to kids in Africa, and an appreciation of life to the kids in America. "All the kids have an understanding of the blessings that they do have," said Watland.

On Monday, the kids will be video-chatting with the couple who started Outreach International.
