Public Works Committee acknowledges letter to withdraw $500K from Rapid City parking lot

The Rapid City Public Works Committee acknowledged a letter from Destination Rapid City that withdraws a big chunk of change from a proposed downtown parking project.
Dan Senftner, President of Destination Rapid City, submitted a letter to the city last week. It retracts $500,000 in promised parking funds for lot at the corner of 8th and Omaha Streets.

Public Works Director, Terry Wolterstorff said the city and Destination Rapid City simply could not come to an efficient and economical solution.

Another letter will be submitted before June 1 that will retract an additional $2 million intended for any parking between 5th and 9th Streets and Omaha and Quincy Streets.
