Walmart neighborhood petitions Rapid City to implement traffic-calming measures

The Rapid City Public Works Committee was presented with a petition from residents who live in the Enchantment Hills neighborhood near Rapid City's newest Walmart.

The petition requests that the city council study and implement a traffic-calming measures in the area.
"We never asked for it to be closed. This was a calming measure to keep the traffic from coming up and down enchantment road overloading the street. Bottom line we never wanted it closed," said Mark Stulk, who lives on Enchantment Road.
Last week, the council voted to remove barriers that were placed at Stumer and Enchantment Roads.

Law enforcement has been monitoring traffic.
