Alex Johnson Hotel spoils mothers with fancy brunch

The Hotel Alex Johnson served a buffet of foods Sunday, ranging from prime rib to pasta, to salmon, and carved turkey.

Wade Lampert, the hotel's general manager, says he expected around 600 people to attend the brunch.

The cold weather did not affect turnout, although it did affect seating. Usually they use the rooftop for outdoor dinning, but the cold rainy Mother's day kept them of the rooftop and on the second floor.

The hotel's celebration of mothers is a nearly 85 year old tradition. "Mothers are a God-send. They do so much for the children, for the fathers like I am, and we couldn't do things without them. So they shouldn't have to cook this one day. This is one day that they should be taken out and spoiled," said Lampert

Lampert said reservations filled up quickly, as they began taking them two weeks ago.
