New life after fire for Rockerville restaurant

It burnt to the ground last fall. Now there is new life for the Gaslight Restaurant and Saloon in Rockerville.

Steve and Linda Zwetzig recently bought the Gaslight property back after selling it in 2011. T
he restaurant and saloon caught on fire last September and was completely destroyed.

Steve Zwetzig says they owned Gaslight for nine years and decided to buy it back after the fire. Construction on the new Gaslight started April 15th with dirt work and now they are framing.

Zwetzig's grandson says he is glad the restaurant is coming back and that it will be in his family again.

"I think it's a great thing that they are building it. I think a lot of people will come here again, just like it was before. I think they'll come again once they see the Gaslight is a new thing again," said Cache Hunsaker, whose family owns the Gaslight Restaurant and Saloon.

The Gaslight should be open for business towards the end of July. On Tuesday morning
at the Pennington County Commissioner's meeting they approved the transfer of the liquor license from to old owners to the new owners.
