Construction will begin on the back nine holes of a Spearfish golf course in July or earlier.
Daryll Propp, Managing Partner for the Elkhorn Ridge Development, says they will manage the construction internally, which opens up the opportunity for more local contractors to perform the work.
He says they will start by getting a contractor to move the 200,000 cubic yards of soil and start making the landscape look like a golf course.
After the rough grades are set, contractors will follow with irrigation, greens construction and seeding.
The initial nine holes, club house and practice facility were completed three years ago. It will expand to 18 holes when construction is completed.
