Revolving loan aims to boost Meade County economy

The Meade County Commission is finding new ways to help boost their economy.
In 2012, the commission established a $100,000 Meade County Economic Development Loan Fund.
The revolving loan, has now grown to more than $140,000, and offers businesses an additional motivation to create jobs and add services to the county.
Sturgis Economic Development Corporation President Pat Kurtenbach says the rapid growth of the fund will benefit multiple industries, "We established this fund just to have it as an incentive for commercial and larger industrial growth. It has since expanded to include residential facilities as well”.
Kurtenbach says the loan has already generated more than $6,000 of interest, which goes back into the fund to be lent to the next recipient.
