Snow, wind, and slushy conditions cause accidents on I-90

Posted:
There were near whiteout conditions Tuesday morning on Interstate 90 between Rapid City and Spearfish.

Abandoned cars could be seen along the roadway.

For truck drivers, the snowy and windy conditions made life difficult. Royal Haight said driving in the windy conditions not only affected his gas mileage but it was a matter of safety.  He hunkered down at Windmill Truck Stop on Rapid City's Deadwood Avenue.

"Lots of snow, lots of slush on the roads, lots of wind, snow; windshield wipers freezing up," said Haight.
