Semi accident, slippery roads sideline traffic on I-90 near Spearfish

The eastbound lanes of Interstate 90 from Exit 17 at Spearfish to Sturgis were temporarily blocked Tuesday morning due to a semi accident.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for parts of western South Dakota/Black Hills and several highways in western and southern South Dakota have no travel advisories from snow packed & slippery roads and freezing slush.

People who must travel today are asked to drive with caution and are encouraged to visit or dial 511 to check the latest road conditions and any travel advisories.

Motorists are also reminded to carry a winter emergency kit and a charged cell phone in their vehicle.
