Bond set at $50K for Rapid City man involved in standoff

Bond is set at $50,000 for a Rapid City man charged with three misdemeanors following a standoff in Rapid Valley Thursday afternoon.

Lawrence Boise, 37, had his initial appearance in magistrate court Friday.  He is charged with three misdemeanors including trespassing, obstructing an officer and threatening law enforcement.

Police say he broke into a mobile home near South Valley Drive and Orchard Lane around 2:30 p.m. He then barricaded himself inside the home and threatened to shoot officers. The Special Response Team (SRT) was able to enter the house after 6:00 p.m. and arrest Boise.

Boise has a long rap sheet with multiple felonies. Prosecutors say he poses a danger to the community.
