Scam or just a scheme, vendor takes advantage of bike show

When you tell a bunch of bikers they can win a free trip to Daytona, you are going to get their interest.  But what seems like a possible biker dream trip could cost you.

A company calling itself Travel Nation USA had a booth at the Black Hills Motorcycle Show in Rapid City last weekend.  People were told they could sign up for a drawing with the winner getting the "free" trip.  It wasn't true.

So far, the organizers of the show have received several complaints about the contest.  One person said the company tried to get him to pay a $500 deposit for his "free" trip.  Another "winner" didn't even get that far before a Travel Nation USA representative hung up on him after refusing to answer questions.

Mike Williams, one of the show organizers, says "the vendor was not a right fit for our show."  Williams also said he would look into what can be done to stop the vendor.

If anyone was caught in this scheme, or any scam for that matter, they can file a complaint with the South Dakota Attorney General's consumer division.
