Belle Fourche City Council passes subdivision agreement

By Barrett Phillips

On Monday, the Belle Fourche City Council entered into a cooperative subdivision agreement that will pave the way for a new commercial addition in the city.

City Engineer Ryan Kavan says the new addition will consist of 12 new open lots for new businesses to purchase. Belle Fourche will provide the infrastructure needed to supply the lots with sewer, parking and streets.

The lots will be just west of U.S. Highway 85 and Summit Street.

"There seems to be a fair bit of excitement in the community because it again does open up the opportunity for new businesses to come to town or possibly existing businesses," said Kavan.

Kavan adds the project will cost Belle Fourche 220,000 dollars. He feels it's a good economic investment and should be done this fall.
