"Empty Bowls" helping feed the hungry of KOTA Territory

Posted:

Feeding South Dakota is literally filling bowls to feed the hungry in KOTA Territory.

With a number of programs to insure that nobody goes without food, Feeding South Dakota is raising money by hosting its 2nd Annual Empty Bowls Luncheon.

This week, the public is invited to come to "Pottery 2 Paint" on Mt. Rushmore Road.

After a small $7 sitting fee, you can paint a bowl to be given away at the luncheon.

Development Associate for Feeding South Dakota Lauren Forsch says the event is a good reminder of how all the empty bowls are filled through donations to the organization, "It's really exciting because they get to come in and have a little fun painting, get to spend some time with friends and family but it's a going towards a good cause in the end".

The luncheon will take place April 23rd at the Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn.

Tickets can be purchased at Feeding South Dakota's website for $25, and all proceeds from the event will go toward feeding the hungry.
