Trial date set in Rapid City child rape case


A trial date is set for man facing multiple life sentences for the rape of three young girls.  Joseph Arguello Senior will stand trial September 3rd. He is charged with 26 counts of first degree rape.

He also faces two counts of possession of child pornography.  His attorney, Tim Rensch, wants the child porn charges tried separately.

Arguello Senior was originally indicted in July of 2012. He's accused of raping three sisters between 2008 and 2012. First degree rape carries a maximum of life in prison.
The maximum penalty of sexual contact with a minor is 15 years.
Arguello Senior is currently free on $300,000 bond.
