The Christian community came together to celebrate Palm Sunday. The final Sunday before Easter was brought in with a brunch and a keynote address from Father Larry Snyder, the President of the Catholic Charities USA.
Around 800 people came to the event to hear about importance of generosity. The brunch is used as a fundraiser for Catholic Charities.
Father Snyder says he tried to promote service. "What I tried to do today is make connections with what people are doing as far as helping those in need and out faith," said Snyder. "First and foremost that for us there is an expectation when you read the gospel, that we're going to help out neighbored in need."
Some of the things Catholic Social Services provides are counseling, adoptions and youth prevention services.
