KOTA Territory kids stormed McKeague Field for Easter eggs

KOTA Territory youth stormed McKeague Field on the hunt for some candy-filled Easter eggs Saturday.

The Rapid City Morning Optimistic Club hosted its 49th free egg hunt with the help of Walmart, Boyd's Drug Store, and Toy R Us, who donated candy, eggs and prizes. About 4,000 eggs were scattered around the field.

Christina Besmer, mother of three, says it was the perfect day for an Easter egg hunt. "My husband and I both work busy jobs so it's pretty exciting we both had the day off to get out with the kids and spend the day, especially since it's so nice outside," said Besmer. "We got to spend the day Easter egg hunting and we're hoping to get to go to a couple more before Easter's over."

Ken Lindskov, member of the Rapid City Morning Optimistic Club, says this year's hunt was a success. "We had a perfect day. We couldn't have ordered it any better," said Lindskov. "We had lots of youngsters mop the field up - in five minutes it was over. There wasn't a wrapper left on the field."

The three kids who found golden eggs won brand new bicycles.
