A Rapid City bank is changing the face of local banking with a new money-making program.
According to Jack Lynass, President and C.E.O of Black Hills Community Bank, Kasasa offers customers an interest rate that is 60 times higher than the national average.
Lynass said there are no hidden tricks; it's simply a national campaign allowing community banks to compete with mega banks. He said most people can save with the program by doing what they are already doing: using their debit card and receiving e–statements.
"The qualifiers are very simple and they're behaviors that the consumer is probably already doing, like using their debit card 10 times per month and by receiving and e–statement, which saves us money. And, if you use your debit card we're making more money and we pass those savings and that extra earnings back to the customer," Lynass said.
Black Hills Community Bank is the only Kasasa bank in Western South Dakota.
