U.S. Rep. Noem works to repeal, change Affordable Care Act requirements

U.S. Representative Kristi Noem says 2.6 million workers nationwide are at risk of having their hours cut as a result of the Affordable Care Act.

That's why Noem says she is sponsoring the Saving American Workers Act, which would require employers to provide health insurance for employees who work 40 or more hours per week instead of 30. Under the Affordable Care Act, employers have to provide insurance for any employee who works more than 30 hours per week.

Noem says the provision will ensure workers don't have their hours cut and also lower taxes by $63 billion.

"Hopefully this will help any employee seeing their hours get cut to have those restored," Noem said.
The U.S. House will vote on the legislation this week.
