Despite protest from the state prosecutor, a judge reduced bond for a man accused of seriously injuring a baby.
Austin Ehnes, 26, is charged with aggravated battery of an infant. The charges stem from an incident in December where he allegedly hit a 15-month-old, seriously injuring the child.
On Tuesday, Seventh Circuit Judge Robert Gusinsky lowered bond from $150,000 to $100,000. Prosecutors say Enhes is from a wealthy family and won't have a problem paying it. They say the serious charges warrant a higher bond amount.
The defense told Judge Gusinksy that his client has no prior criminal history and is not a flight risk.
