PIERRE, S.D. – Gov. Dennis Daugaard has ordered all state offices in the western portion of South Dakota area closed today (Monday, March 31) because of the strong storm impacting the area.
State offices are closed in Butte, Corson, Dewey, Harding, Lawrence, Meade, Pennington, Perkins and Ziebach Counties.
Officials are monitoring the storm closely and evaluating whether further state-office closures might be necessary during the day and when offices will re-open for state business.
Officials also suggest that citizens with business at state offices in areas near the closure counties call ahead to make sure the office they intend to visit remains open.
