The Rapid City Home Show wrapped up Sunday with organizers calling it a good weekend.
Members of the Black Hills Home Builders Association held their annual home show this weekend at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. Jeff Lage, event chairman, says about 9,000 people came to the event to look at home products, which included repair, furnishing, cooking, cleaning, and much more.
The majority of the vendors came from the Black Hills area, but Lage says some came from far away as California. "You can meet with people and professionals that can help you determine what products are best to use on your exteriors," said Lage. "You can get information regarding getting your properties cleaned up."
The kids section was expanded this year to include bouncy houses, a bike track, and a fire truck. The expansion was intended to help families get along better while at the event. "It keeps them occupied and my kids are old enough they can be left alone a little bit," said Dusty Harrison, a parent. "It keeps them from getting bored while I am looking at whatever products are available."
Organizers say the Home Builder's home show is still the biggest in the state and one of the biggest in the region.
