Reptile Gardens opens for its 77th season

Reptile Gardens opened Saturday for its 77th season.

The home to a number of slithering serpents and all kinds of creepy crawlies currently holds the world record for the most reptile species under one roof.

Joe Maierhauser, CEO of Reptile Gardens, says they usually open on April 1st, but they decided this year to open on a weekend. He also says the weather was perfect for opening day.

Maierhauser says by the looks of opening day he expects a good year. "I think its going to be a decent year," said Maierhauser. "I think it's going to be better than last year." Maierhauser want on to say, people who didn't travel last year probably are going to want to travel this year and they are anticipating a fun year.

Reptile Gardens is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The attraction will close again in November.
