Kids with disabilities showcase their talent in Rapid City

Kids with disabilities in Rapid City got the chance to showcase their talent in the second annual Disabilities Awareness Talent Show at Central High School.

This year's show was bigger than last year's. Middle school students and people from the Adult Transition Program also came. Students danced, sang along to popular songs and read poetry.

Organizers say this is a great opportunity for students with disabilities to express themselves and shine on stage.

"We think the students in special education are really special so we want everyone else to know that they deserve to be on stage and have fun," said Amy Heuston, a special education teacher at Central High School.

In addition to the talent show, there was also an art gallery full of artwork done by kids with disabilities.
