Beginning January first of 2015, students at Western Dakota Tech can expect to pay a higher fee.
Mark Wilson, President of Western Dakota Tech, said the state raised fees $1 per credit hour. The extra money will help maintain and repair the institute's facilities.
Three years ago the state approved a $3 increase in state fees that helped pay for a new library and student services center.
Wilson said students will greatly benefit from the fee increase.
"It's a college level type program and students that attend the technical institutes need to have those great opportunities; have facilities too for receiving a great education and training opportunities," said Wilson.
With the added fee, Western Dakota Tech students will pay $137 per credit hour.
