KOTA Territory winter recreation spots end winter season on top

Posted:

With this winter's consistent snowfall, snowmobile trails and slopes were put to good use.

Sandy Vandeest, owner of Trailhead Lodge in Lead, says the resort recorded one of its best years in the last 28 years. October's blizzard provided a good base snow, and the season's snowfall just piled on the fun.

Terry Peak is having one of its best years as well. Manager Linda Derosier says crews were able to open all the slopes at the beginning of the season, which is unusual for the ski and snowboarding mountain.  She says Terry Peak received 117 inches of fresh powder through the season, which doesn't include the 84 inches from the October blizzard alone.

Both Trailhead Lodge and Terry Peak will be concluding their season at the end of March.
