Harsh winter means big spring profits for home improvements stores

This year's hard winter and record breaking storms mean big business for home improvement and repair stores.

With more stable spring temperatures around the corner, homeowners will soon be opening their wallets to get their homes back in shape.

Topping the to do list of many people is the replanting of trees, and bushes, as well as repairs to roofs and exterior painting.

Hardware Hank Store Manager Dan French says he is expecting a lot of people to be doing the projects originally intended for the fall, this spring instead, as well as more intensive yard cleanup, "People did the major stuff in October but the small stuff they usually do every year may have got put on hold. There was a lot of things that was under snow for quite some time so I think you'll see a lot of yard clean up."

French also says that people have been eager to get their patios setup and preparations finished for their gardens.
