Pennington Co. Commissioners support expansion of B-1 training complex

Pennington County Commissioners say they are going to write a letter of support for the proposed expansion of the Powder River Training Complex.

Tuesday morning at the County Commissioner's meeting a representative from Ellsworth Air Force base gave a presentation about the proposed expansion of the B-1 Bomber training complex.

Commissioners say this was a good opportunity for them and the public to learn more about the air space expansion. It would allow military air crews to fly in realistic training scenarios.

Commissioners say the expansion will be very beneficial for the Air Force.

"To protect this country I think they need all of the training they can get in the Air Force and this is a great place to do it," said Ron Buskerud, Pennington County Commissioner.

"It's a fantastic place to go. It's a way to help Ellsworth and our United States military," said Ken Davis, Pennington County Commissioner.

Commissioner Davis says a copy of the letter will be sent to the Air Force.
