Tuesday morning, the Northern Hills got dumped on, and in Rapid City there was also a fair share of snow and slushy roads. Numerous schools and businesses in the area had late starts.
In Rapid City, rain changed to snow by 1:30 Tuesday morning, making for treacherous driving conditions. In all, Rapid City received four inches and Deadwood received eight.
The snow to is expected to melt quickly as high temperatures, Tuesday, are expected to reach into the mid 40's.
