The Rapid City Chamber of Commerce backs President's Plaza project

Posted:

Now that the President's Plaza project is moving forward without a $5 million dollar cash infusion from the City, the Rapid City Chamber of Commerce takes a side.

The Rapid City Council has been divided on the progress of the project, while some members supported the cash infusion, others did not. Members of the Rapid City Chamber of Commerce want the council to do whatever it can to get the project going.

Marnie Hermann spoke on behalf of the Chamber in support of the project. "The mission of the Rapid City Chamber is to promote a strong business climate in the Black Hills we seek to work with business and government bodies to grow our local economy we strongly believe that the President's Plaza development support the mission, vision and goals of the chamber and our members,"  said Hermann.

The council will continue to discuss the amended contract with Dream Design.
