Robert Johnson still has not been found as search and rescue teams searched Wednesday until sundown.
Search and rescue teams started searching Lookout Mountain this morning in hopes of finding Robert Keith Johnson. Some of his belongings where found on the mountain by hikers both last Saturday and Monday.
Johnson is described as six foot two and is 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a green jacket, white long sleeved undershirt, and tan sandals.
They have searched both the east and west faces of the mountain.
"We'll search all of Outlook Mountain and Outlook Mountain Ridge as long as we can; then from there on out we'll just continue to do what we can. Unless, he contacts a family member," said Boyd Dean; Lieutenant of Spearfish Police Department.
Ground rescue teams along with a federal plane which was contracted through the state searched all day, but not after taking precautions first.
"You just go through figure out and try to get as much to break them up into groups. Obviously safety is the big thing. So, we can break them up into groups of five to six, depending on how your out keeping everybody safe," said Scott Charlson; Spearfish Fire Department Operation Manager.
Search and rescue teams have not found any evidence of him yet and will not be searching at Outlook Mountain any more.
